Stitching is the term used to repair most cracks on engine blocks, heads, etc.
Click the link above, its on the same site Gordo referenced.
This has been done for years and if done properly works real well, myself as Gordo mentioned I have had many of these repairs made to my stuff and the guy that does my stuff has had a real good reputation on his work. I've never had any of his stuff leak or break after the repair.
