Message:   So I load up the W300 this morning for it's inaugural work trip, hauling a little less than a level 9 foot bed worth of broken bricks and rock to the dump.
Go to start it and get one turn out of the starter, then the chatter of the solenoid kicking in and out. I'd drained the battery about a weeks ago trying to start the sucker after I flooded, so I figure my battery is shot.
Get the battery tested, charged for an hour, everything checks out OK.
Pop it back in the truck, same thing.
Pull the starter, have that tested, guy complains about how dirty it is, but tells me it tests out fine.
Pop it back in, same thing.
So I hook up my other car to it to jump it and fires right up and idles nicely.
Voltage is a little under 12 at the battery and the alternator posts, goes down to 9 within about 2 minutes, so I figure no charging going on.

So here's the fun part, I've got this crazy huge alternator and weird adjustable voltage regulator on the fire wall. If I remember correctly it's a 60 amp alternator, optioned for the dual batteries and fire truck stuff that used to be on the truck. I figure I'll switch it all over to a normal alternator, who knows if I can even find any of this 60 amp stuff today.

Anybody think it might be something else, or know anything about the 60 amp alt setup?
