There's a huge amount of money that changes hands in exchange for favorable advertising. Most of the media are whores to the highest bidder, and the Japanese have been pouring it out for years.

Add to that the Japanese set out to destroy America in World War II and got slammed hard for their efforts. If you ask me they and the other losers like Germany still hold a grudge to this day. Look at what der fuhrer Dumbler Benz did to Chrysler! Can we expect less of the Japanese?
