Message:   I was enlisted to help a friend retrieve his lastest purchase from a building yesterday. Bill had found a 70 D300 that was non running or steering, more on that later. When we got there we thought the car and van in front of the truck would have been moved, not the case. So we helped get those out of the way along with a snow plow and a box on wheels. This truck has factory PS but the steering arm was removed. I backed my 35 ft trailer inside to winch it onto the deck. The truck wouldn't move because the front brakes had seized to the drums. We pulled it up to the concrete floor ten feet in front of the truck by placing a floor jack under the axle. Once on the concrete we removed the front wheels and tapped on the drums to break the rust free. With a large bar placed in the wheel studs the wheel broke loose. Repeat on the flip side. Now what I didn't mention was the fact that this building was PACKED with junk. We has just enough room to remove the wheels and the place smelled like a cat litter box. In the end we got the truck on the trailer and back to Bill's shop. I got an email saying the 318 was running after a tune up and that the hoist worked under the flat bed. The truck is in pretty fair condition with the usual rust issues. The previous owner bought the truck new on Mar 3rd 1970. Just another adventure in trucking.
