Message:   Hi guys and gals!

Just a reminder: I was checking out my front end, on my truck, for a steering problem. Had it jacked up with wheel just touching the ground and twisted it back & forth to check for steering play. Discovered all kinds of slop in my front wheel bearing, enough to be dangerous!

Thing is, I rebuilt all that about 6 months ago and used correct normal torque procedure. But those goofy castellated nuts only have 3 cotter pin cutouts, so it leaves way too much chance for error. Ended up having to slightly over-tighten to safety it.

Checked your nuts lately?
