Message:   I think it was asked on Scott's site about Ram wheels on our Sweptlines but I couldn't find it so I will post here first. I have 2 sets of rims for my '01 Ram. One set of steel chrome rims and the original alloys. The steel ones are marked '96 and are a stock wheel. I was swapping wheels the other night and since the PW was sitting right next to it I thought I would pull the right front and see how they fit. The lugs are bigger on the Ram but I measured the lug holes on all three style rims. My original rims and the chrome steels had the same size hole, however the alloys were .020" smaller. That really surprised me as I thought the holes on the Ram wheels would be larger. Really took me by surprise that the alloys were even smaller. The Ram wheels bolt right on with the stock lug nuts. The steel wheels have 285/75Rx16's and the alloys have 265's, mostly worn out. I didn't take the time to check turning clearances but the 265's (31", I think) looked to clear pretty easily. Not so sure about the 285's. They were not quite as tall as my 19.5's but much wider.

I would use the chrome wheels as is since the lug nut hole is the same size as my stock 19.5 rims. The Alloys I would not as the thicker rim flange does not allow full engagement of the lug nut threads. The nut also appears too small to not have the taper do some damage to the rim itself. Not sure if there is a larger diameter lug nut out there or not but IMHO you would definitely need to at least replace the lugs themselves to use the alloys.

Hope this answers the questions I have seen regarding using Ram wheels.
