Message:   Probably lucky to be able to find any head gaskets for a Poly, it not being one of the most popular engines out there.

The composite/steel head gaskets don't raise compression any more than a plain steel shim. True, you don't get the heat shield on the newer ones. The composite crunches down to the steel shim thickness, while the composite material offer far better sealing at water/oil galleries.

This FelPro type is what I just put on a Cummins diesel, with 17.5:1 compression, so no question about the sealing.
