Message:   To advance, turn the distributer OPPOSITE the direction the rotor rotates.
#1 is front, left cylinder
#8 is the 2nd cylinder to fire, no way u can time it from that.
The key groove in the crank/damper is #1 TDC
The timing indication pointer is usually centered on the right bank of cylinders, so the TDC mark on the damper should be 90 degrees from the key groove
Rather than pulling the distrib, u may be able to move the wires in the cap 1 hole counter clockwise
Rather than using a light, its easier, maybe even better, to set it by ear, or with a vac gauge.
