sorry ben must have been a miscomunication I don't remember saying junkyard parts was used to do disc brake conversion? the only way a salvage yard comes into play is that we find some sweptlines in the upullnpay yards that we are able to get parts off of instead of buying the whole truck. it also gives an ordinary person access to many different Mopars, these are vehicles that have been produced my Chrysler and driven some with lots of mileage and some with astonishing low miles that could have been sold to someone in need of transportation, at these locations we are able to see what the engineers from mopar put out, we are also able to get ideas of what can be used to do things like powersteering, these parts can all still be bought new, just don't have to spend alot of money doing trying different ideas to get something that works.
So sorry I can't give you a list of junk yard parts, for the junkyard doesn't manufacture parts, but the company that I was referring to before that does 4 wheel disc conversions for owners of Mopars uses same parts that any of us can go to the parts store and buy the only difference from them and AAJ is they don't use chevy parts, I'm also confused to who determined that an adapter had to be made on another adapter to use Mopar Calipers, I believe they were referring to that if you wanted to use Chevy rotors and Mopar Calipers then maybe all that would have to be done. for I don't see that much compliction on my 83 and it has front disc, I see mopar has their own designed disc brakes just like ford and chevy, ugly trucking made a disc brake conversion and they didn't have to make adaptors for adaptors, more than one company make disc upgrades for the muscle car era Mopars and they don't incorparate Chevy disc or calipers, so I fail to see it necessary to use chevy parts.
the only reason their isn't a Mopar kit, is no one has tried. we all know that our trucks aren't the only vehicles with the same spindles, just no one has looked, and yes its not easy for as individuals we don't have all the information we need sometime to do this. can it be done? ABSOLUTELY |
