Message:		741 & 742 were Dana/spicer, 489 was the Auburn. The complete Auburn cone type is currently available new from several vendors and the Dana/spsicer clutch kits are widely available. Over the long haul the Spicer is far superior, much better lockup, adjustable by using lighter/heavier springs, and a better contact surface. It's physically possible to machine the used Auburn but it's quite difficult, requires machine tools and an expert's hand. I believe the later 9.25" also use the Auburn friction cone type but not sure?
