That 727 automatic is one of the best ever made. It survived in various formats for over 50 years. I'd keep it vs a three speed. There are many, many trick things you can do to a 727 to shift just like a manual and even downshift, while getting great performance.
Yes, the hydraulic clutch was standard on that year Dodge.
Some here may have a 3 speed laying around.
