Okay, I've related some of the brake problems, silliness and perplexities on my Town Wagon swap project. So I finally got all the front supension and axles in, and brakes dialed in, and new lines, after cleaning out old steel lines and blowing out with the compressor. New rubber lines all tidied up and everything connected, time to pour in the whoa juice. Not.
Master didn't want to bleed. Stock single chamber type until I upgrade to dual with Hydro-Boost power unit. It finally started to bench bleed, then lost it. After a while it started coming back up and was pumping a little fluid to the right rear line that was open. What's that noise? Oh, I know what that noise is: it's the blown master cylinder gushing fluid down the inside of my firewall!
REALLY don't want to rebuild as I only need it for about 2 minutes while I move the truck so I can stuff the Cummins in. Maybe I'll just get Bufford and Jubal to do a rope tug and dig their heels in once I've rolled it far enough....
This master was a NEW replacement about a year ago and hadn't given any problems at all. It sat on the truck full of fluid until about 2-3 weeks ago. Go figure....... |
