Message:   Off, in what respect? Side to side? 1/4 doesn't seem like much, there is adjustment at the dash, at the firewall, and at the cab mounts, where any movement of all 3 at 1/16"-3/32" each, would make up that difference.
I find it best to finger tighten all connections before final tightening, that allows enough movement for final adjustments. The column mount at the firewall has a great deal of leeway due to the over sized holes and large washers on the OEM bolts.
