Message:   Sales of course drives the business. Some products are eliminated.
DeSoto, Plymouth, Oldsmobile etc etc. I'm surprised Mercury is still around.
GM has a history of at least purchasing other car companies ie Pontiac Oldsmobile Buick, and Chrysler got Jeep.
My own view of car companies is that they have all had too many models to market and maintain production. Seems, particularly GM ,has model redundancy look at GMC & Chevrolet trucks ,for example, they are basically the same thing. Badge engineering, auto manufactures have been doing it for many years.At least Chrysler dropped Fargo and Plymouth trucks and kept Dodge going.
Tough times we are in. Hate to see it , but a lot of companies have folded over the years
