Message:   it may be strong but the whole set up was a dismal failure for Dodge and chev and only lasted 4 years because of complete and utter disappointment by many owners. the 70s was the low point for quality and innovation in US car companies. they got greedy in the late 60s and stayed greedy until foreign car companies took over the market. remember the 80s bail out of Chrysler? all the big three ran themselves into the ground with bad business tactics and lack of forsight. I compare all 4 wheel drive trucks usually to the WC 3/4 ton of WW2 or the post war Power Wagons. When you hold a 75 to 79 dodge up to that light for comparison, there is none. I now drive an 82 W150 with chain drive and it is fine but it is part time so I dont hear that annoying loose chain noise and I get 19 plus mpg with the slant 6.
