Message:   Setting up a differential, without the proper tools or experience, isn't a project that I would tackle without help.
I'm not sure the cost is worth the effort.
As mentioned, taller tires would accomplish the same thing.
You would have to drive a lot of miles to gain a payback with the gear change or the overdrive (which may also require a driveline modification?).

...and while the debate over full time vs part time has raged for two decades with no clear winner, the documented differences between full time fuel mileage and part time fuel mileage is 1 mpg or less.
The NP203 was not respected at the time, because it replaced the all time best part time transfer case, the NP205.
However time has shown that the NP203 was one of the strongest cases built.
It's weak link was in fact it's links, it was chain driven and the chain was prone to stretching.
There are replacement chains and chain tensioner's that solve that issue.
