Jimmie, what u did is correct, but u missed a few details. In the following sentences, the word "billions" is incorrectly included.
>>All I'm able to comprehend from that is that this number represents the number of billions in dollars per person.<<
>>To prove my answer I multiply 18,939.394 [which are billions of dollars]...<<
The problem is u are getting hypnotized by "dividing".
All division equations are checked by multiplying, as u did.
So take 6,600,000,000 (number of people) and multiply it by 18,939 (number of $ EACH person has)
Its sort of like taking 8 (number of cylinders) and multiplying by 2 (number of lifters each cylinder has) and answer is 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: I can't figure it out that way, Terry. I simply dropped all the billions and divided 125,000 by 6.6, as how many billions of dollars by how many billions of people, which comes to roughly 18,939.394. All I'm able to comprehend from that is that this number represents the number of billions in dollars per person.
To prove my answer I multiply 18,939.394 [which are billions of dollars] X 6.6 [which are billions of people] and the total is 125,000 [which are billions of dollars]. So, my math proves out correctly by the way I was taught. That's the only thing that makes sense to me here, but I sure wasn't a math major. |
