Just my thoughts here, but it seems to me the times f the 'Good of the Union' are very long past.
Today they amount to a Protection Racket that uses Extortion as its basic tool.
They specialize in discrimination, giving only those people that pay for 'protection' a fair chance in the workplace.
They clearly discriminate against any other class of people getting jobs in shops that are Union.
They discriminate against any other non-Union employee in the same company, such as various members of the management.
They discriminate against stockholders and owners, seeing them as a different 'class' of 'Non-Union' people.
The Union's only tools are blackmail, extortion and other criminal acts because those tactics as practiced have been legalized only for their select class.
Try the same methods in any other venue and you're staring down the barrels of RICO, Extortion, Blackmail, Restraint of Trade, Discrimination and Terrorism, with the hammer back and an itchy Federal Prosecutor's finger.
I dated the young daughter of the Vice President of a very powerful Union at one time and it got REALLY SCARY when I discovered her daddy's connections! Like something out of a movie, but it was real life, or real death, or a real nasty accident tsk tsk tsk. |
