Message:   No. Actually foresters measure the quality of a site with site quality, which is measued by how tall a tree will get in a given amount of time (normally 50 or 100 years) known as site index (SI). Interestingly enough, this number barely changes from 20% of full stocking to 200%. Diameter growth however will very considerably.

Some have studied how measuring soil type, precipitation etc. instead of SI can be used, but they can't come anywhere near as close to predicting how much wood you can grow there.

Even more interesting, CRYPTOS doesn't use site quality. You give it a stand table (number of trees of each diameter/acre) and height, so it has all the information it needs.
