This truck was purchased by my Father in 1976. We used it to remove Burls from steep terrain to ship overseas for Burl Veneer(furniture, automotive and the architectural industry). My Father taught me how to drive in the woods with this truck. Looking back on it now, Wow, what an experience. The poor old truck used 2 to 4 quarts of oil a day. I remember those headaches. That's if we worked it hard, and usually we did. Brakes, didn't really have any. Some good memories. My Dad never wanted to fix it up because he didn't know what tomorrow would bring. Has anybody ever heard those words before? I went to sell it in 1994 and my wife said absolutely not. I guess it will be with my family forever. In fact It's about ready to get called back into service in the summer of 2006, my son and I are going to go and cut some more burls with it near the coast. 1995 rebuilt the motor and did the brakes, what a difference. Love that old truck.
