Found this truck in Salmon, Idaho in 2010. Was a work truck for a local irrigation company and set up to lay irrigation tile (note front bumper and door sign). Door signs read AmRen Enterprises, Inc., Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401, (208) 529-0399, IPUCP 3502. Was used until around 1988 when it was parked and then only used in an occasional parade. Motor started easily and runs good. Motor block is from a 1946-48 Dodge car and the head was made 2-11-55. Still a 230 cu.in. I imagine, but too bad not the original motor or at least a truck motor! Wiring and switches are all original and still serviceable, just had to clean all the contacts. Turn signals were added by a previous owner and I swapped the turn signal mechanism for a Sparton unit I found at a junk yard and modified the driving lights for turn signals as well as clearance lights. Of note, the Amp gauge reads to 50 Amps and not the 30 Amp of previous units (this serial number was towards the end of the transition for the 50 Amp gauge). Truck has a home-built flatbed with wood bed installed by a previous owner (probably the irrigation company) with 2 around 20 gallon round fuel tanks mounted at front of bed, outboard of frame. Bed also had tool boxes and a homemade rack which I have removed. I have since done seals, bearings, tune-up, oils, brakes, cooling system, new AVG lockout hubs from Vintage Power Wagons, and cab mounts and now runs and drives fine.
