I purchased this 1947 WDX in 2013 and also located and reunited the truck with its original Series 1 bed after about 40 years apart and while in service with a feed wagon box. This same truck was owned and used by my Dad as a farm truck in western Kansas in the early 1970s when I was growing up. After he sold it the next owner removed the original bed and put a feed wagon box on it. Nearly 40 years later I was able to track down the truck and the original bed (minus the rear fenders and running board) and I am now working on restoring the truck.
I have entered the original T137 motor number above because that number was used in the Kansas title and was part of how I tracked down the truck and identified it as the one my Dad owned. However, that engine is no longer in the truck. Instead it has a flat 6 Dodge motor, beginning with D30 as the number. My preliminary research shows that to be a Dodge 6 Custom, but the history is unknown.
