I have a German language book about the Middle East. In this book, there is picture of a PW woody with a Campbell body in a desert town. This one also has dual spares.

I did get a couple of other photos from the ex-Campbell employees in Waterloo, and there were other woody Power Wagons. All the photos appear to date from the early 50s and they are not identical. For example, in one photo the rear wheel cutouts are clearly not the same as mine in the posted photo.

I should mention that I was in Waterloo as part of the National Woody Club meet. There I talked with ex employees and they described the process of building these cars to be pretty "quick and dirty"....not like building fine furniture. Thus stuff often did not fit perfectly and they made minor changes on the fly, especially with custom or semi-custom orders.

I saw hundreds of pictures there, and these document and amazing array of vehicles that were fitted with wood bodies.

One last point of interest, I bought the truck from the third owner...so the chain of ownership was not long. The guy told me that he had been told that they made about 50 of these and that all but this one had been shipped to the Middle East. There was no way to confirm this, Campbell's records were lost in a fire, but the fact that I have a picture of one in the Middle East lends at least some credence to the story.

I also got a photo from a guy in Texas. His father worked for the first owner in Arizona. He has a picture of himself as a kid with tailgate open and pronghorns that they had hunted. He had some very interesting stories about how the truck was used on the ranch.

Interesting stuff eh?
