Good post Paul. None of the bolts that have been safety wired on either of my two rigs have been done correctly. I learned how when I changed out the prop on my plane in spring and fall. Quality stainless steel safety wire can be purchased from any of your aircraft suppliers by the spool/can in various sizes. I'd imagine that you could probably buy just enough from any of your aircraft mechanics. Buy a set of safety wire pliers. They not only save a lot of time, but the twist is even. Just remember the lefty loosey, righty tighty and all should go well.
