I know about the "nigerian scams", but if the guy sends you a check of whatever kind, you deposit it in the bank and wait till it clears and you know the money is there, how could you get scammed? I agree I wouldn't send anything overseas without receiving payment first, and I especially wouldn't send anything to Africa without making sure the check was good, but I'm sure there are honest Africans who like old trucks so I would at least give the man a chance. Obviously as soon as he starts talking about any kind of wierd payment arrangements, the deal is off.
