Thought you guys might find these pictures interesting. I work at a Shipyard that has been in business here since 1923. Most of the lathes & equipment have been here in our machine shop since then, & most were used when they were bought at that time! They still work perfectly...much like a Power Wagon, they're simple & effective tools that are easy to maintain & fix. The large lathe in the picture is big enough to turn my 20" wheels without problems & I must say, I feel very lucky to have the privelige of using such great old machinery. The pipe threading machine in the picture is still used, but we recently bought a fancy new Rigid Pipe threader, so it's now semi-retired, & still working great I might add.
Hope this isn't just wastefull drivel to you guys!
