I always prep, prime, paint & then assemble very carefully, but I believe at least in the case of the Power Wagon, Bill's method would be closest to original. You'lll notice on an original paint truck, all the fasteners & fancy washers are painted. If I was doing a concours restoration on a Power Wagon, I'd Prep & epoxy prime the sides, end pannel, & rear crossmember. I'd then bolt that assembly together & paint it all at once, then continue assembling the rest of the bed. On my blue truck I painted everything first, assembled it, then very carefully painted all the fasteners. It took a lot of time & it's not correct, but who cares anyway?
