I'm sure this goes without saying, BUT the deliberate brutality of PTO stuff is amazing, and the shafts turn plenty fast. I work around sawmills and tractors and winches a bit and it's scary because you have to be aware and thinking clearly all the time, and that's a real stretch for me! Neighbor tells the story of a local guy who lost his arm at the shoulder to a WC winch. Got his glove caught while reeling in cable alone. The guy lived, albeit with a severe personality change, and became a lawyer. If that isn't the worst-case scenario, I don't know what is. It would sure hurt to be under a rig checking out the pto stuff and get a shirtsleeve caught on the shaft, or some such disaster.
