Hey Mark, I have been following your posts and questions on the dipstick tubes and oil lines to the oil filter. I just measured the tubes on my '47 and '51. They are both 7-1/4" from the point where they enter the block to the top end of the tube. Both dipsticks are 16-1/4" from the very tip to the underside of the "bell" that slides over and seals the top of the dipstick tube. I know both of these trucks to be original. On both of these trucks, the lower vertical port (shown in your photo) connects to near the top of the oil filter canister. The upper horizontal port connects to the very bottom of the oil filter canister. Both filter canisters are part of filtration systems supplied from the "Deluxe" company. Other filters shown in the parts manuals: MoPar, Purolator, and Motor Improvements, may plumb differently. All 6 Power-Wagons that I have owned had their plumbing connected to the ports as mentioned above.
