Cant answer about Polyethylene, but I think any time you run air on a long run under ground your asking for problems. Problems with moisture freezing or just ouddling and giving you wet air on the other end. If you could Guarantee an absolute grade with one end being low, with a drain, then it should work.

Example: I had the bright idea a few years ago to pipe hot air under ground about 30 feet to my generator building. I made real sure I had a grade on the pipe, with a drain on the house end. Worked fine for most of the winter. Then I guess we got frost deep enough to heave the pipe. It started to
get condensation and finally filled with water, but on the side of the problem with no drain. I could pump it out, manually by removing the heat pipe section in the Gen House. But it came back and still does. Its a discontinued underground line. Now I use a small LP Vented heater. Just my .02 cents
