B&M makes a kit to strengthen the weak points of the 47RE. The new transmission, the 48RE, pretty much uses that philosophy, but from the factory. While the jury is still out, I'd be very surprised if Dodge hasn't solved the 'problems' with this new trans, the bad PR just isn't worth cutting corners.
