Dana I don't know if it's the same as a 315 but I had the same problem on my first one. I had to remove the flywheel to get a bolt on the right side of the bellhousing that is inside. I did this on a 315 that was locked up and I couldn't rotate the crank so I dropped the crank and flywheel together after popping all the main and rod caps. I think it had do do with the way the oil lines came off the block to a remote canister oil filter. Good luck it's even more "fun" putting it back together. You're right call Judd.
