I realize now what the instructions were saying --- "Get extra "S" hooks at the "spring store", (none of my doors have them at the anchor end which initally were installed by a "door store". Now I realize that the pulleys can be disassembled.
I have another spring, (135 lb) to install however I had put a 145 lb. spring on last year and of course afterwards the door lifts by itself in the wind!!
I know this makes me sound like the "dumb-consumer" !!
I have the safety cables installed ---
For those that have always wondered --- A door installer once told me that he has never heard of anyone getting hurt/killed by a door spring however I have personally seen one --- (and a much bigger one too !!) let go with minimal damage. I'm sure that somewhere out there someone can dispute my statements with proof.
So thanx for the advice guys !!! Maybe I'll consider replacing ALL four springs with proper spring installation.
