1989 Dodge diesel pickup question, O.T.

I am looking at buying a 1989 Dodge 3/4 ton, 2WD pickup. It has The Cummins diesel, automatic trans. , and has 98,000 miles on it.
I do not know much about these early Dodge diesels. Is there anything inherently wrong with the early Cummins, or automatic Trans.they used in these trucks?
I will be using it to tow a fairly heavy trailer full of lawn maint. equipment around town. It looks real clean, and I think I can get it for under $5,000.00. What do you all think?
