Warm up the engine and when you pull the valve cover bring #2 piston up to TDC and check see if you have zero lash on the I & E rockers and then do the same for #4 as well.
If you have any clearance, you probably have a bad lifter [not pumping up] or it could be a bad or worn rocker arm or even a bent pushrod??
Unfortunately the stock rockers are non-adjustable, so you can't make any adjustments to compensate for not having zero lash.
There are a couple of ways around this, you can replace the worn parts obviously, or if you decide to go the Edelbrock route, I would invest in some ductile iron adjustable rockers from Crane or Mopar Performance and get a set of pushrods from Smith Brothers to run the adjustables rockers with the hydraulic lifters. I have heard the Edelbrocks are real nice street heads for the money. You can also run these adjustable rockers on your stock heads too with the Smith rods, it makes a much better setup than stock and worth every penny in my opinion.
