At least on the early trucks the "VINs" are just serial numbers. You can tell what year(s) it was built and the plant it as built at with the secret decodr ring ;-)
If you want to know the otions, engine and cab numbers you have to send off to Chrysler for a copy of the build sheet. Joe has the contact info for that Chrysler department somewhere on the web page.
The late 60's through early 70's trucks may actually have a decodable (is that a word?) VIN, but I wouldn't know for sure.
