had to go and look it up.

A VC is by definition a 1940 truck, though the build is probably September 39 to September 40 ??

The military VCs were all made at the Mound Road plant, but civilian trucks were made at both Detroit and Los Angeles.

Starting serial number in Los Angeles for VCs is 9254201 and engine T105-1001, so your find is the 647th truck built in the LA sequence and might have an engine number around T105-1648 (ballpark) if it is totally original. I doe expect to see those 'pod' headlights on late 1940 trucks rather than early but I might well be wrong.

I'd have to admit my knowledge of non-military trucks is thin, except where they were bought by the army as standard vehicles.
