Even with the t-case in neutral and the tranny in neutral, you still have the axles and differentials turning at speed. That's what ruins Dana 300 cases in towed Jeeps, the rear drive line turns the back half of the t-case even when in neutral, those gears are unlubed because of the case design and soon self destruct. Trailers are the way to go.
