It had had a blown headgasket, and was left with the head off in the rain for 1 year. After my brother and I towed it home, we sprayed wd40 on it , handcranked it til the valves all stuck up, and hammered them back down.Repeated many times, eventually 11 of them fell by themselves and the 12th one only need to be touched to pop back home. While Leon bolted the head on, I crawlwd underneath and pulled the drain plug. When the water drained and I got to oil, I put the plug back in. Total cost of 'overhaul', one $6 headgasket. Engine ran for 1 1/2 years before we put a junk yard engine in. Later sold the truck to an astronomer in Ensenada, Baja California, in about 1978 for $1500. Probably still at the observatory? Anybody want to go look for it?
