My first car was a '64 VW, but I won't go there. In about 1969 or'70 I was playing in a rock band and had to haul around this ENORMOUS Church organ (who could afford those "expensive" portable keyboards then?). I bought a '66 Dodge Window van, slant 6, AT, no seats, and no AC (in Phoenix!). It also was very handy for hauling around an enduro motorcycle. I was driving that van when I met the love of my life (no, I'm not refering to a PW). I even taught Ma to drive in that van. Just prior to getting married, I thought we ought to start out with a "nice" car, so I sold the van and bought a 1-year-old Mustang with stick shift. The first time the wife-to-be climbed in to drive, she asked "What's that other pedal for?" Thanks for jogging this old mind to some great memories. -D.
