Have you ever BUILT (for off road) a pre 50's PW?

I have been in to building jeeps for a while now and while i love jeeps like many who catch the bug, my dream car has always been a power wagon, pre 1950. While i do love the original restored trucks and plan on doing that at some point in my life, my next project is to try to build one up with newer parts. Like a newer engine, tranny, transfer case, and BIG tires. If any of you have experiance with this or have pictures of one done up like that please let me know. I would like any help i can get prior to tearing into a beautiful truck.
