From the feedback - I think that I will definitely use it on the frame. Thanks for the can precautions - I have had similar experiences with clear coat - but not quite as drastic. :)

Apparently Por15 stuff requires some special attention to process and compatibility too. As with any coating process - surface preparation seems to be the most important.
