preheat to atleast 500 deg. before welding. try not to go above 800 during the welding process. use the welding procedures Gordon outlined above. You can purchase tempil sticks an inexpencive heat reactive crayon that will melt when a certain temp is reached. you can get specific temp(500,800) sticks or a kit containing various temp sticks. As Gordon says this is a SLOW process, take you time you will have good results. Try to control cooling rate to between 50 and 100 degrees an hour. This should eliminate any cracking( it has for me anyway!!)good luck
