Hmmm, interesting. The one experience I've previously had w/fuel pump was I drove it to friends house, parked it came out and it wouldn't start. Never even gave a hint it was going to break...
I just bought a new one. For the hassle it gives me, I drive that old truck everywhere. It's not uncommon for it to get 12-20 thousand miles a year.
