My parents drove a WC53 (pulling a 1 ton trailer) from Northern California to Northern Minnesota in the late 1940s. Several years ago I asked my Mother how she managed the trip. She said she really couldn't remember the trip being really bad. Maybe time dulls the pain.

My WC12 bench seat has zero lumbar support for long distance trips. I have driven my WC12 100 miles each way for parades or displays, and it is always an experience. There are three positions for the bottom bench seat-poor, bad, and worse. The non-ergonometric seat and control layout, the constant noise from the engine, gears, and wheels, and anticipation of something going wrong is very fatiguing. Only another powerwagon owner would appreciate the ride, and the fact that getting there and back is also part of the total experience.

I can only marvel at the three guys who drove 1/2 ton dodges from California to Alaska in three weeks.
