Hey Ron, at an inch shorter than me, you should have room to spare! Actually its is kind of like yoga...or maybe packing circus clowns in a midjet car...the stretching and contorting keeps me young and svelte. (There's one for you Dana.) Maybe its because I started driving these when I was 18 and my body has just grown into the shape.
Seriously, one trick that works for me is to set the seat all the way forward. This gives me plenty of lower back support. My legs are bent, but I can handle that as long as I stop every 100 miles or so to stretch. With the seat all the way forward, I have plenty of lower back support, I am sort of leaned back instead of scrunched over the steering wheel, and head room is never an issue.
Now, wait until you try it wearing a full set of artic insulated Carhartt coat and bibs and U.S. military "mickey mouse" boots!
