Just when I think I have the handle on stopping it want to stop running (uphill that is). I thought there was a string about vaporlocking / weak fuel pump here but am blind today also. '47 WDX, 230, new fuel pump, clean filter. Likes to stop pumping gas when going up even the slightest hill ( didn't used to). Thought it was low fuel as adding some "fixed" the problem. I checked in the tank (tank holds nearly 40 gals)a week ago and there was nearly an inch of fuel so I figured it was an issue of pick-up tube being in the front of the tank. Backing up the hill (1/3 mi in the dark) worked the other day but did not this morning even after addding about 4 gals. Just made it up to level ground. Could this be a leak in the supply line sucking air when the static head changes with attitude? Float level ( I can see going head up but not head down)? Any other ideas?
