Greg,
First off this is from memory so take it for what it is. I seem to recall that you heat a small area (Quarter size) cherry red, then tap lightly with a hammer and dolly, then cool with wet rag. The process is slow, but does work and you can oil can the steel in the oppisite direction if too much is done.
Others will correct me if I'm wrong but I "believe" that is the process. Hope this helps, Kevin
