..."If we plan it, they will come!!!" Gee Doug, I dunno! Im not sure if the Front Range can compare to the splendor of the San Juans and other areas where the "Rocky Mountain Rendezvous" has been held in its past 11 years. Most of the local trails that I know of just might not meet up with "Rocky Mountain Hard Corps" standards. Carl Buckingham might get sick from spending too much time at too LOW of an elevation!
You would have to decide if you would want to emulate "the Rendezvous" with your PW Palace being a side attraction, OR, would you want to create a Colorado Fairfield centered around the "Northwoods Equipment complex" with some Colorado trail riding offered as optional activities.
There are several nice camping options up my way and the "Rampart Range" & "Mount Herman" roads would make a nice mild trail ride connecting that area with you in Palmer Lake.
Last year, Josh in Denver was talking about trails north of the RT 285 corridor in the general area of Webster Pass. That's a nice area, but still a long haul for day-ride trial rides originating in Palmer Lake (especially in a PW). "Dan in CO" and "fletch" might have some ideas too.
The ease of highway accessability to your place might make such a rally more of an option for a lot of the midwesterners and southerners for whom a trip hauling a PW through the mountains to SW CO might be a big prospect.
Anyway, keep that thought! It could be a flat-fender-full-o-fun! Bruce
