the ECT (electronic coolant temperature switch) sences how warm the engine is, computer then adjusts timing and mixture . ECT goes bad whenever engine is overheated.Injection is more dependable, but has all the same sensors. Most problems on newer (poat 1980 ?)computer controlled cars are with the sensors.Have fun!- I suspect we'll be hearing from you....
